London knife attacker charged with murder of U.S. woman

Flowers are left near the scene of a knife attack in Russell Square in London(Reuters) - A 19-year-old man was charged on Friday with the murder of a 64-year-old U.S. woman in a knife attack that wounded five others in Central London on Wednesday, London Metropolitan Police said. The man, Zakaria Bulham, was also charged with five counts of attempted murder in relation to the individuals injured in the attack, police said. Earlier in August, a man who attacked passengers at a London underground train station in December was jailed for life.

Gainey assumed control of the 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command during a ceremony at Fort Shafter in Honolulu on Friday. The command oversees missile defense radars and Patriot anti-missile batteries in Japan and the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD, system in Guam. THAAD is a land-based system that includes a truck-mounted launcher, tracking radar, interceptor missiles and an integrated fire control system.
