The five teenagers were arrested in an operation in suburban Melbourne carried out early in the morning by Victorian state police and the Australian Federal Police. "It is alleged the men were undertaking preparations for planning a terrorist act in Australia, which included targeting police officers," the statement said. Australia has recently sent hundreds of soldiers to Iraq to help train forces fighting the Islamic State. |

Phillips 66 says pipeline leaked diesel into Mississippi River Posted: 17 Apr 2015 04:25 PM PDT (Reuters) - Phillips 66 said it discovered a diesel fuel leak from a company-operated pipeline between a terminal in Hartford, Illinois, and the terminal's barge dock on the Mississippi River Friday morning. The pipeline was shutdown and the source of the leak has been isolated and boomed to ensure additional product does not reach the Mississippi River, a company spokesman said. The fuel was released into the Cahokia Canalthat empties into the Mississippi River, the company said, adding that it has notified the appropriate regulatory agencies. |

Colombia's Santos calls for deadline on FARC peace talks Posted: 17 Apr 2015 03:09 PM PDT Colombia's President Juan Manuel Santos on Friday warned that the country's patience with Marxist FARC rebels is wearing thin and that the peace process to end five decades of war must have a deadline. Two days after the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) broke a unilateral ceasefire, ambushing and killing 11 soldiers in rural Cauca province, Santos pledged to remain at the negotiating table with the rebels but called for a timeline. "We must put deadlines on this process and if (the FARC) want peace they must demonstrate with deeds and not with words." The rebels called a ceasefire back in December and demanded the government reciprocate by halting all offensives against the group. The attack on the soldiers, who had been carrying out an anti-drugs operation in southwestern Colombia, prompted calls from the opposition for Santos to suspend the peace talks. |

The main topic of the meeting will be the replacement for the outgoing U.N. envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar, who announced his resignation on Wednesday.
