Europe is grappling with its worst refugee crisis since World War Two and Germany so far has taken in the bulk of some one million people expected to arrive this year. While Tusk has repeatedly stressed the urgency of tightening Europe's borders, Chancellor Angela Merkel has pushed for states to show solidarity and share responsibilities for refugees. |

Kate was located about 70 miles (115 kms) east-northeast of Great Abaco Island in the Bahamas, with maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour (85 km/h), the Miami-based agency said. A turn toward the north is expected on Monday night, followed by a faster northeastward motion on Tuesday, the agency said. |

Vale says burst dams in Brazil to hit Mariana output Posted: 09 Nov 2015 01:31 PM PST Mudslides from burst dams at the Germano mine complex in Brazil have taken out a conveyor belt at a nearby mine and will affect the output of iron ore giant Vale SA, the company told Reuters on Monday. Vale and BHP Billiton are co-owners of Samarco, operator of the Germano mine near Mariana. Vale produced nearly 39 million tonnes of iron ore at its Mariana complex last year and output was up 1 percent in the first nine months of 2015. |
