Chess pieces depicting Greek gods and Spartan soldiers on display in a shop in Athens, GreeceSkeptical euro zone finance ministers demanded on Saturday that Greece go beyond painful austerity measures accepted by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras if he wants them to open negotiations on a third bailout for his bankrupt country to keep it in the euro. The ministers postponed until Sunday a decision on whether to recommend starting talks on a new loan for Athens and sought further commitments first on product market liberalization, labor laws, privatization, state reform and more defense cuts, plus a promise to pass key laws next week, officials said. Iran and the six powers involved in the talks - Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States - have given themselves until Monday to reach a deal, their third extension in two weeks, as the Iranian delegation accused the West of throwing up new stumbling blocks to an accord.

Secretary General's office said before the truce that President Hadi had "communicated his acceptance of the pause to the coalition to ensure their support." Air raids pounded Houthi and Yemeni army units in the capital Sanaa and in the group's stronghold province of Saada along the border with Saudi Arabia.

By Tom Körkemeier and Andreas Rinke BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The German government has argued that Greece could take a five-year "time-out" from the euro zone and have some of its debts written off if Athens fails to improve proposals it has made for a bailout. The paper, seen by Reuters and first reported by Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, offered "two avenues": either tighter conditions binding the Greek government to its new promises or a temporary exit from the euro. Sources in the ruling left-right coalition in Berlin said the paper was drawn up after discussions among conservative Chancellor Angela Merkel, her centre-left deputy Sigmar Gabriel and Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble.
