Two dead, 100 hurt in blasts at Kurdish rally in Turkey

Initial reports said there had been one explosion but a senior security source told Reuters there were two blasts. Eyewitness Guy Martin, a British photographer, told Reuters the blasts occurred some five minutes apart - the first in a rubbish bin which was ripped apart and the second in front a power generator.

Four Saudi forces killed in attack on border from Yemen

Saudi-led forces said on Friday four Saudis were killed after an attack was launched on border areas in Jizan and Najran by forces loyal to former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh and Houthi rebels. A statement on the official Saudi news agency SPA said that an attack had been launched from the Yemeni side into Saudi Arabia's Jizan and Najran areas and a battle had taken place since the early hours of Friday and until noon in which tens of Yemeni soldiers were killed. Four Saudis were also killed in the battle, one officer from the National Guard, two ground forces officers and one border guard, the statement said.

Officials in the town of Astoria were working on Friday to tow the 32-foot (9.7-metre) whale, which is also a licensed boat, out of the water to assess the damage, Port of Astoria permit and program manager Rob Evert said The town will not make a second attempt at launching the whale, which needs to be repaired, until August, according to Port Executive Director Jim Knight.
